@123ertr yea winter time the metal is a little harder to come by. Depends on the area your from too. It may not be worth it sometimes. It’s always a gamble. Get better soon!

@woodlandcammo27 me and my buddy usually go digging through the creekbeds around here cause theres alot of junk ppl just toss into their backyards and let it wash away lol we fill up the bed of his truck with mostly tin but we get a bunch of scrap iron and hide it under the tin and just claim its all tin an for about 650-700 pounds we usually get like 80 bucks man. and 2 or 3 loads a day makes a good bit of cash. then i get to sit back and get stoned all day while riding around scrapping
@WooZIE997 No shit! I usually pass on scrap iron unless it is a huge amount and can be easily loaded. This moron neighbor of mine toils all day on scrap iron to clean it and cut it up. I make just about as much as him by concentrating on metals worth alot more like copper, aluminum, stainless, wire and all that. I also do not break my back loading iron all day. I get my metals from electronics, small items and remodel jobs. I usually take it all in to the yard in my small toyota car.

@woodlandcammo27 also post adds on craigslist in the services section. Ive had calls from them. Also if you can afford it put your number in the phone book. It costs about 300 per year. Yea iowa sheet iron is at 200 a ton right now, 120 is low

@woodlandcammo27 then they might call you when they have a foreclosure. Also something I did was sent flyers to all my local storage places saying I will clean the storage units out for FREE! Im sure you’ve seen storage wars, people pay for that stuff. I get them for free (well i do have to clean them out, but what i find i keep or sell) Also put some cards at your local landfill. Old ladies be calling and asking for services and such. They will give out your number.
@woodlandcammo27 There are many ways to get started. Sorry I have not posted any more junking videos but I will soon. First come up with your name. Junkin Jays does not only junk, a majority of what I do is clean out garbage and such out of houses or garages. To get started you need advertisements. Signs on your truck for starters. Print up some business cards (some places you can get front and back color for like 40 bucks. Pass them out to realtors or banks.
It is only 115 a ton here! Sucks! I took in 200 lbs. and only got a little over 10 bucks. I am interested in what you had to do to get your business going. I am all familiar with licenses and insurance but figuring out prices and advertising.
